CHS conducts BLS Training for PDLs

In continued partnership with the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP)-Iligan City, the College of Health Sciences (CHS) of the Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) implemented the second phase of its ongoing project entitled Mga Nars kaabay sa kalusugan ug kalawasan project para sa PDL BJMP-Iligan City, and conducted Basic Life Support training for PDL (Persons deprived of Liberty) at the BJMP in Iligan City on July 29, 2024.

The PDLs underwent training on how to perform basic Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid to help equip them with the skills needed to perform chest compressions and rescue breathing when a situation calls for it that can potentially save lives until professional help arrives.

The training proper was headed by CHS faculty and lead trainer Clarence Bien L. Nebres, with other CHS faculty helping in the facilitation of the PDLs performance during their return demonstrations.

The joint project was implemented in line with the National Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Day (CPR Day) celebration. CHS faculty and College Extension Coordinator Associate Professor Jiddo Andrei G. Maranda gave the opening remarks during the activity.
