MSU-IIT remains among top 1000+ universities worldwide in 2024 THE Impact Rankings, shows remarkable progress in SDGs

Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) has once again secured its place among the top 1000+ universities worldwide in the prestigious Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings for 2024. With an overall score of 54.1 out of 100, MSU-IIT continues to be recognized for its exceptional contributions to global sustainable development goals (SDGs).

The university has shown remarkable progress, surpassing its previous rating of 50.5 and improving by 4 points. This significant development can be largely attributed to MSU-IIT's unwavering commitment to tackling global challenges and making a positive impact on society.

In the ranking, MSU-IIT also proudly stands as the top university in Mindanao with regards to SDG initiatives. The university's commitment to sustainable development is exemplified by its significant progress across multiple SDGs, underscoring its position as a leader in driving positive change in the region.

Among the 17 SDGs set by the United Nations, MSU-IIT has actively participated in 16, showcasing its dedication to various areas of sustainable development. 

According to THE, MSU-IIT has shown notable progress in SDG 1: No Poverty, SDG 2: Zero Hunger, SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 5: Gender Equality, SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy, SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, and SDG 13: Climate Action.

The University's efforts are particularly commendable in SDG 2: Zero Hunger, where MSU-IIT has made tremendous strides and seen unprecedented growth.

Chancellor Alizedney M. Ditucalan expressed his satisfaction with the university's latest achievement. "This improvement reflects the University's commitment and continuous efforts to address global challenges and contribute to sustainable development."
